Menan Days

It has become a tradition to go out to Menan for their 4th of July Celebration. It starts off with Rich and his brothers, Dad and brother in law playing in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament where they have taken 2nd place for the last few years.
After the basketball tournament we walk around the booths and let the kids play and get their face painted. We have a picnic lunch, run in foot races and finish off Menan Days with the parade. Ty learned very quickly to stand up and wave and be cute and the people on the floats would throw candy to him. He was loving it!

After the parade we went back to Grandpa and Grandma Madsen's house for a BBQ. The kids played in the water, the adults played badmitten and Lightning Reaction - a game my sister in law brought over that gives an electric shock to the loser. I will try to post some video, it is really funny. I got shocked 2 out of 3 games! I was not very good at it. :)

We let the boys pick out some fireworks. We got some good ones from a stand our Bishop's family was running. This firework the boys have is called Frog in a Blender - it was a pretty good one!

I was sad about not going to Menandez . . . for about 10 minutes. It was overcast and cloudy in the city, so we sat in the back yard - no sunscreen or anything!! Still a little sad, missing the footraces . . . then the food was ready and I forgot all about being homesick! Firemen sure now how to cook!

Looks like you and your family had a great 4th of July! We of course spent ours here in Clearfield, Layton, and Kaysville. I still think it is funny that you used to live by my parents, what a small world. Your boys are so cute!

Fun to spend the day waterskiing with your sisters. My kids love the water and it is fun to get out there everyday and not have it be a big deal to go for a swim.
It is nice to have a kids that isn't afraid of being in the water and will swim in the cold. Wish you could bring Kade here for a visit. Between swimming and throwing rocks in the water it is hard to get little boys in the house.

I didn't know the bishop's fam were doing fireworks, I would have supported them too. Oh well.
Small town fairs and things are kinda fun I think. Looks like your boys enjoyed it!
BTW you look totally hot in that picture on the driveway!
