Memories

So I got this off a friends blog so I thought I would try it because it could be super fun.

1. Leave a comment with a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and read friends' memories of you. If you leave a memory for me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll do the same for you. If you don't have a blog (shame on you!!), I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.
This should be fun.

Pier Opening

The Snake River Landing project had the grand opening of the pier, pictured below, yesterday. The pier is so pretty. It goes out over the water and has benches and flowers. All the building being built around it could make this place really fun! It looks like it is going to be like the Gateway in Salt Lake. Iggy's Sport Bar is the only thing located there right now. The Hard Hat Cafe is being built. Hopefully we get some more good restaurants and fun shopping there. At the grand opening celebration the kids got spiderman and spongebob popsicles.
Zack kicking back and enjoying a stroller ride.
Kade and Ty taking a little train ride
The inflatables, as always, were a big hit. This is the first time Ty has actually dared climb up - and he LOVED it!

Slow and Steady

Well I am on course for my training for the 1/2 marathon. I ran my 8 mile run this morning - that is such a long ways to run! But I did it and it felt o.k. Rich is out running 10 miles right now. I got up and went first - it was cooler and felt nice. Now it is already 81 degrees and he is probably melting.

Farewell to Will

I guess I can't be too mad - I don't call and vote. But I think all of those who do call in and vote should vote for who I like! I loved watching Will dance - I guess I just figured he would be at least in the top 2, he is SO good. I will be sad to watch next week without him on the show.

I think they can dance!!!

So you think you can dance was great tonight! I thought all of the dances - except for Comfort and Mark were great. I hope, hope, hope Comfort and Mark are the next to go. My favorite number of the night was Twitch and Katee's Mia Michaels contemporary number. I thought it was so entertaining I rewound it and watched it again.

Zack

Here is a video of Zack while we were at Palisades Lake on Saturday. He was very content to sit in the shade canopy and play with toys.

Weekend in Driggs

We had a great weekend! It started off with a last minute surprise flight home for my parents who have been down in Arizona at the doctor for my mom to receive radiation treatments. We had a family reunion with all my siblings planned that weekend and their trip home made the weekend even better! :) It was so great to see them - they look great! We had so much fun being together, going to the lake, laughing and visiting. My family is amazing - I love being around them. My parents are such a great example to me. They are instantly loved by everyone they meet. They are so thoughtful and concerned about others even through their own trials. They are a perfect match and I admire how close they are to each other and the Lord. I love you mom and dad!

My youngest sister graduated from BYU-Idaho Friday night and was surprised by a dinner before the graduation with all of my siblings and spouses and my mom and dad!! It was GREAT! We ate at the Pineapple Grill in Rexburg. They have a sushi bar there and I got a sushi roll - YUM!!!! I loved it. That was my first sushi experience and I am dying to go back.

After church on Sunday I had my sister take a picture of our family. I don't understand why Rich thinks this is such a horrible thing to do - but it is literally me pulling all of them to stand by me for 2 seconds for a picture to be taken. I guess I should just be happy we are all in the picture and looking at the camera. Zack is happy - but that's no surprise!

High Expectations

Rich joined Anytime Fitness a month ago - I don't think we'll be seeing this anytime soon! Is that really possible for a human to do?? It looks really gross to me!

Tee Ball Hit

Kade's first tee ball season comes to an end on Wednesday. I am glad it is almost done - it is fun but we have been doing swimming lessons and tee ball for the last two weeks and need a break! I wish I would have had my camera today at swimming lessons. Kade is very confident in his swimming ability and when he and the other girl in his class were jumping in the pool and swimming to the other side, Kade decided he was going to dive in and did a very impressive and loud belly flop. Everyone in the pool area turned and looked. He was very proud of himself and later asked if we saw his dive. :) His belly was still a little red 30 min. after swimming lessons ended. I am sure he will do it again, so I will try to capture it on video!

PRESTO The Magician

Presto the Magician came to the Library last week. Kade had been counting down the days for this, he was so excited to go. The room was packed full of kids and parents but we got right up front. The magician was pretty good and the show lastest almost a full hour. The kids loved it! Especially when he made a real bunny appear at the end of his show. Very fun, FREE activity!

Busy Week

Kade's tee ball team is called The Bears. They have one more week of games. He has really loved playing tee ball.

Ty is so much fun - he has lots of personality and loves to play!

Tee ball in the morning, swimming lessons in the afternoon, running and playing all the time in between - Kade is completely exhausted by 5:30pm. He has been going to sleep for the night about 5:30-6pm every night this week.

Lightning Reaction

This is a different type of game my sister-in-law Valerie brought over to play during all the family gatherings over 4th of July. I got shocked 2 out of the 3 games I played. The shock was on low during the games I played - it feels similar to touching an electric fence - which I have also done!

Top of Utah 1/2 Marathon

We're going to do it!!
The Top of Utah 1/2 Marathon is in 7 weeks in Cache Valley. No I haven't been training for it - but I start tomorrow! My brother and sister-in-law (Todd & Valerie Johnson) are going to run in it with me and Rich. This is a big leap for me from a 5K - but we'll give it a try.

Menan Days

It has become a tradition to go out to Menan for their 4th of July Celebration. It starts off with Rich and his brothers, Dad and brother in law playing in a 3 on 3 basketball tournament where they have taken 2nd place for the last few years.
After the basketball tournament we walk around the booths and let the kids play and get their face painted. We have a picnic lunch, run in foot races and finish off Menan Days with the parade. Ty learned very quickly to stand up and wave and be cute and the people on the floats would throw candy to him. He was loving it!

After the parade we went back to Grandpa and Grandma Madsen's house for a BBQ. The kids played in the water, the adults played badmitten and Lightning Reaction - a game my sister in law brought over that gives an electric shock to the loser. I will try to post some video, it is really funny. I got shocked 2 out of 3 games! I was not very good at it. :)

We let the boys pick out some fireworks. We got some good ones from a stand our Bishop's family was running. This firework the boys have is called Frog in a Blender - it was a pretty good one!

Palisades Lake

All of my sisters (4) and brother went waterskiing together this last week at Palisades. We had a great day playing at the lake. I love waterskiing!! This was my first time this year and it was so much fun! The water was so nice, and it was so fun to be with my sisters and brother.

We set up a great canopy for shade and lunch and the kids loved playing in the water. There were 13 kids and 6 adults. :)

This jet ski is not ours but was on the shore where we were playing at the boat club and Ty thought it looked to fun to pass up.

Kade is a little fish! He loves swimming and swam all day except when I had him ride in the boat while I skied. I think this was the first time he was been in the boat while I have skied, so he thought it was pretty cool that I could do that.

Ty didn't think anything about the boat ride was cool. He was fine while we were going slow, but as soon as I sped up he hated the wind in his face and sat down on the floor with the towel over his face the rest of the time.

Kade thought it was pretty fun to help me drive. I know my hair is looking amazing - but I did just get out of the water.
