An Affair to Remember

Yesterday I watched the old movie, "An Affair to Remember." I love this movie and the cheesy lines.

Oh, it's nobody's fault but my own! I was looking up... it was the nearest thing to heaven! You were there...

Winter must be cold for those with no warm memories... And we've already missed the spring!

If you can paint I can walk- anything can happen, right?

As cheesy as it is, I cried and cried. What a great movie!

Splash Park

We went to Rexburg today with Valerie and her girls to the Splash Park. It was so fun to get out and play in the water and soak up the sun!

After getting shots this morning at his 6 month check up, Zack was a great baby. Playing in the shade and sleeping the whole day.

Kade LOVES water!! He was not messing around going down the slide. He went head first, backwards, on his knees, anyway he could think of and he loved it.

There is also a big carousel next to the splash park that we rode - it was a big hit with the kids.

Thanks to Ty playing photographer - I am actually in a picture :) Not that great of a picture, as I am stuggling to keep Zack covered and in some shade while I fed him a bottle.

Chukars Baseball

Rich, Kade & Ty went to the Idaho Falls Chukars baseball game tonight. It was great weather to be outside. I stayed home with Zack who has a little cold.

When looking through all the pictures on our camera taken at the game it looks like Kade spent most of his time taking pictures - NOT watching the baseball game!

From the look of Ty's face when he got home and the pictures - it looks like he spent most of his time enjoying this BLUE icee.

Father's Day

We had a very nice, relaxing Father's Day. Kade sang with the Primary in Sacrament meeting . After church we went over to Rich's parents house for dinner. We grilled steaks and had a yummy potato salad and pasta salad with it. For dessert we had a bunch of different toppings to make our own milkshakes. YUM!! The food was great! Rich is a great dad and husband and we love his so much!!

Teton Dam 5K Race

My sister Heidi and I ran in the Teton Dam 5K race in Rexburg this morning. It was a perfect morning for a run. My sister was such a trooper, I was so proud of her. This was her first race and she did a great job! The course was pretty tough - straight up hill for the first mile, down and up for the second mile and then finishing straight down hill for the last leg, a little over a mile.

Before the race started - 8:15am, about 50 degrees

Despite falling off a chair while painting on Wednesday and not being able to walk for the last three days, I was feeling a little better this morning and really wanted to run in the race with Heidi. Nothing a little BioFreeze (from the schwag bag) couldn't temporarily fix! :) I ended up placing 3rd in my age/gender division, and 30th overall. Not too bad for running with a beat up leg!

My biggest fans - getting up early to come and cheer me on!
Plus they really don't have a choice.

New Crafts

I bought these metal pieces over a year ago when we lived in Utah and have just now finished the blocks. I think they turned out cute though!

So You Think You Can Dance???

I love this show!!!  These are my 4 favorites after last nights show:
Girls:  Chelsea Trail & Kerington
Boys:   Will & Josh
It is fun that they had an audition in Salt Lake, there are a couple in the top 20 that made it from the Salt Lake audition.  One girl that I thought was so good from the Salt Lake audition didn't make the top 20.  Her mom is a choreographer for High School Musical.   This show is so fun to watch - Wednesday 7pm & Thursday 7 or 8pm (this is when they eliminate one boy & one girl)

I will miss watching Neil though - he was my favorite last season!!

Old Time Looking Photos

I found this website off of Rich's cousin's blog. You can convert your photos to look like old time photos - it is kind of cool. Go to labs.wanokoto.jp/olds, then you click on English in the upper right corner and pick a picture to convert.

Frist Tee Ball Game

Kade had his first tee ball game yesterday. We have them every Mon. & Wed. for the next 6 weeks. As you can tell by the pictures he gets bored pretty easily, but that is understandable, it really is pretty boring and he only got to hit the ball once. At one point he just wanted to go play on the playground with Ty, but I told him he only got a team snack if he stayed with the team and he quickly came back. He did try to slide into third when he was running the bases - Rich saw him - I was doing something with Zack and missed it.

Looking at his hat, apparently it is more interesting than the game.

Kade sitting on the ground filling his glove with dirt. He told us after the game that he was trying to make his glove "more squishy!"

Kade's team is called The Bears. They are mostly boys but there are a couple girls on the team.

Grandpa and Grandma Burnside's

We spent 4 days up in Driggs at Grandpa and Grandma Burnside's house. It is so fun to go play up there. It is so pretty up there right now. Everything is so green from all the rain. We were abruptly woke up at 4:30am the first night up there when the fire alarms went off . There was no fire - just a routine check. Surprisingly it didn't wake any of the kids except my nephew who is 8.
All my siblings - Heidi, Jenni, me, Scott, Mitzi and Rachel were all there a couple of the days.
It is so fun when we all get together - there were some heated games of Ticket to Ride!

We all rode bikes - I got my first ride on Scott's motorbike

All the kids brought their bikes and had bike races and loved riding around up there.
Kade and Ty with their cousins - Braden, Luke and Hannah

We had a BBQ in the back yard - the kids loved toasting marshmellows and hot dogs.
My mom, Jenni (my sister) and me

A perfect spot for Ty to play trucks in the dirt with his cousin Hannah

After playing so hard for 4 days the boys were completely wiped out on the drive back home - we had SO much fun!!

Surprise call from Norway

Kade's friend/next door neighbor is in Norway for a month visiting Grandparents. They moved here from Norway last December and we moved up in June and he and Kade became fast friends. They play together everyday from 9am until we drag them inside in the evening. Kade and Ty have really missed Benjamin. Yesterday morning Benjamin called from Norway and talked to Kade on the phone for a while. Kade was so excited - it really made his day.

Cress Creek Nature Trail

We went for a hike on Saturday afternoon to Cress Creek Nature Trail. It was beautiful weather. It was an easy hike, good for the boys. Rich wore the backpack incase he needed to pack Ty - but Ty walked the whole thing by himself. On the way down there was a creek and the boys took their shoes off and played in the water for a while. They loved it!! Ty kept saying, "This is so fun playing in the water." It was fun to find a little hike with water they could play in. We went on a few hikes down in Utah where there were waterfalls and water for them to play in and so everytime we go hiking up here Kade keeps asking if we are going to the waterfall hike. He was pretty happy to find water on this hike. :)

Kade examing a rock that he thought was a lava rock.

Ty playing in the water - he loved it!

Hiking down the trail

Stopping for snacks ( the boys favorite part) 5 minutes into the hike. Zack slept the whole time.

The boys soaking their feet in the runoff water.

Bike Ride & Run

Kade wanted to ride his bike while I went for a jog on Saturday morning, at first I didn't think he'd be able to make it but he insisted on going so I let him. He did so good! We went 3 1/2 miles and he didn't complain at all. It was fun to have him come along with me. When we got home I switched and got Ty, and he rode his bike around the block (1/2 mile) while I walked and cooled down.
